Do you think it's okay to use someone else's artwork for inspiration & as an influence? I thought about this while I painted a white rabbit this week. I really enjoyed the Strathmore canvas paper that I used for this piece. I got carried away and had fun painting some of the details especially.

I'm sure Samuel H. Cress would have felt flattered if he knew what a gorgeous painting you made quoting him. I think it's perfectly fine to get inspiration from old masters, especially if the new piece is so creatively altered like yours
